I do wunder what the title of the theological mainwork of thomas aquinas is. Is it

Or something else?
I alaso would like to read some scientific articles about this topic, but i have hardly found anything about it.

Dear Heinrich,

the website of the Thomas Instituut should help you to find literature on St. Thomas Aquinas. Did you use the right name when searching on the Internet: his name is spelled differently depending on the language you would like to read...

The title of Aquinas´ most important work is given both as Summa theologiae and as Summa theologica. This difference is probably in accordance with the spelling in the medieval manuscripts which transmit this text. I have seen "Summa theologiae" more often used as its title, but this view is not based on actual manuscript inspection. You should check one of the modern editions, preferably the Editio Leonina. I hope this answer helps you a bit. Good luck with your research!

Most present-day Aquinas scholars talk about the ´Summa Theologiae´. ´Summa theologica´ is considered to be old-fashioned, but to be honest, I have no clue why that is so.

Anton C. Pegis writes "...though tradition has honored the use of the name Summa Theologica, the correct title of the work is either Summa or Summa Theologiae."
Anton C. Pegis, Introduction to Saint Thomas Aquinas, (New York: The Modern Library College Editions, Random House, 1948),xii.

Not too long ago I asked one of my teachers about it. It seems that Summa Theologica (theological summa) is indeed old-fashioned since it presupposes the study/existence of other summa´s, the summa biologica e.g. Therefore Summa Theologiae (summa of theology) is said to be more correct, because it doesn´t presuppose the study of other summa´s. It is ´just´ a summa of what we study: theology.

Torrell writes on the subject: "It does not seem that Thomas himself gave the title to the work; we retain the most ancient and most widely attested title Summa Theologiae,
cf. A. Walz, ´De genuino titulo Summae Theologiae´, Angelicum 18 (1941) 142-51.
